Urban Health Plan

  • Deal Overview:  Urban Health Plan - (UHP) is a network of federally qualified community health centers based in the South Bronx and Queens. Monge Capital helped provide financing to both recapitalize UHP and expand its corporate facilities. With Goldman Sachs as the lead investor, the $55.5 million investment enhanced with approximately $40 million of Federal New Market Tax Credits allowed the organization to not only obtain critical recapitalization financing but also to build a six-story, 54,000 square-foot community health clinic, expanding its services to medically underserved communities in the South Bronx, including Hunts Points, Mott Haven and Morrisania. The transaction will nearly double the number of annual primary care visits (medical, dental, vision and mental health) to more than 400,000 by 2016.
