Lillian A. Plata, Esq. is a seasoned attorney with 20+ years of experience in structuring and implementing multimillion-dollar financings at local and national levels. Lillian is one of the few Latinas in New Jersey specializing in Federal and State Tax Incentive Structured Finance, with an L.L.M in Taxation, and is the founder of TUS Advisory Group LLC, advising developers, non-profits, and government entities on Opportunity Zones, New Markets Tax Credits, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, and other federal and local tax incentive programs. Currently serving as Senior Legal Advisor to Monge Capital, Lillian previously worked as General Counsel for a national affordable housing development company. Her expertise extends to corporate acquisitions, infrastructure projects, redevelopment, and tax-exempt financing.
Lillian is actively engaged in professional and community initiatives, serving on boards such as Open Access, and previously with New Jersey Community Capital, EWNJ, LUPE Fund, Inc., and others. Recognized for her contributions, she has received numerous awards, including the 2024 Policy Makers Award (EWNJ) and Top 50 Women in Business (NJBIZ). She holds a J.D. from Rutgers Law School, an LL.M. from New York Law School, and a B.A. from Drew University. Lillian is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, New York, and Washington, D.C.
