Whole Foods Market

Historic Redevelopment and Adaptive Re-use

The redevelopment of the historic Cox Cadillac building in Oakland led to the creation of the city’s first Whole Foods Supermarket. The $37 million, 56,528 square foot project was financed using NMTCs and Historic Tax Credits.

Monge Capital structured subsidy support to enhance tenant fit-out and ensure feasibility for a major grocer in a formerly underserved area.
